Camille Davis Quarles was born on June 3, 1929, in Paris, Texas, to Melvin and Lee Dan Davis. She graduated from Paris High School in 1946 and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of the Campus League of Women Voters and also a Blue Bonnet Belle finalist. While at the university, she met the love of her life, Brice Quarles (known to most as Pinky). They were married on July 3, 1949, in Austin, Texas, at the University Methodist Church and were happily married for 58 years until Brice’s death in 2008. Camille and Brice were longtime members of the Skillman Avenue Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas. In her spare time, Camille enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, taking trips to New Orleans for the music and good food, spending time with her pets, and most of all sharing memorable times with her family. At the age of 93, she entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 14, 2023, in Waco, Texas. Camille is survived by her son, Brandon Quarles, and his wife, Debbie, of Waco, Texas; grandson, Corban Quarles, of Waco, Texas; and granddaughter, Ashtyn Ingram, and her husband, Reid, of Waco, Texas.
